  • Announcing "FULL TIME" to abortion in NZ.
  • Arranged by Sue Rowe and The Whistle Team, coordinated from Hamilton.
  • "He lifts up a banner for the distant nations, He whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Here they come swiftly and speedily!"  (Is 5:26)

ABORTION - 40 days prayer/fasting: 10 Oct - 18 Nov

                    www.whistlenz.org

Remember our BIG AIM: 100 cities/town in NZ?  The cup is 25% full - 24 cities/towns have a red heart beside them.

That is great - BUT there are big gaps in some areas of NZ, like

        north of Whangarei,

        Poverty Bay,

        Manawatu,

        Westcoast of South Island.

It seems that when a new idea/vision is floated there are three main groups of people:

The early adopters (of the idea,) who get going as soon as they hear and who help right from the initial stages.

The mid adopters come next, the ones who probably heard at the same time but weighed it all up before committing,

Lastly the late adopters, who sign up just before the start.

God is now whistling for all the mid and late adopters at the ends of the earth to sign up, to commit, to lend their spiritual weight to the 40 days.

This is where YOU could be instrumental in the other 75% of the cup being filled up!

Could you contact your Christian friends, rellies, former pastors, etc and encourage them to come on board, to sign up for the city/town where they live, to fast and pray.

A Warkworth pastor asks that we pray:

        1.  For a lowering of prejudice against Christian influence around the abortion issue.

        2.  For more effective work from the Church at large around these issues.

        3.  That many more Christian people will gain compassionate, well-balanced and educated
             access to those facing
pro-life or termination issues.

        4.  For more balanced sex education from people who are well informed socially, statistically
             and medically and open
access to that kind of teaching rather than preference given to pro
             choice philosophies.

An interesting email was forwarded to me last week.

It was headed "An Alert for Front Line Soldiers" and written by Mark Sandford, who is the son of well known counsellors John and Paula Sandford's.  The main thrust was to warn of a widespread spiritual attack, one that has been spoken about in a number of different nations.  I mention this because we are dealing with abortion, God's big vision that Satan would love to abort in whatever way he can.

Some main points Sandford makes:

It is especially concentrated on intercessors, prophetic people, prayer ministries, pastors and other leaders. Its tactic is to tempt us to see ourselves as incapable and unqualified, or unworthy to perform our minsitries, and to imagine that others agree.  This causes distrust and division.  We feel weak.  Many whose ministries are thriving feel they are accomplishing little. The demon's ultimate aim is to get us to abandon our posts....by exploiting each person's vulnerability.  One person called it 'the vision-aborting spirit'.  Sandford said "Satan is frantic to abort any vision that promises to strengthen the saints for the dark times ahead".  He warns not to pray by yourself regarding this spirit, but with "the aid of Christian co-labourers, expel it only from the group over which you have authority.  This is important so we avoid Needless Casualities of War.  Repent of whatever hidden

sins the powers of darness might want to exploit.

Please Pray:

~  for God's protection over all those across NZ who are involved in the 40 days vision,

~  that the 40 days vision will not be aborted in any way, at any time.

ENCOURAGEMENT:

Pastor Daniel, a Korean pastor in Auckland, has been instrumental in informing Korean pastors
    about the 40 days.

~  Wai from Kutarere, south of Opotiki, and Zoe from further up the coast from Opotiki, have been
    arranging several
different ways of participation in their area for those in their hapu.

~  One church in Wairarapa is holding a Candle Light vigil on the 10th and making this available to
    others in the town.
(Any others out there considering a vigil on the 10th Oct?)

~  An 18 year old girl from a Hamilton high school emailed me requesting more information as she
    and some friends
are keen to be involved.  (This is great news.  May there be more under 30 year
    olds.)

Sunday 5th October

 2 opportunities to pray

Join internationally with others

~  Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem

see Psalm 122

~  International Life Chain Sunday

On this 5th day, take 5 minutes

to stand up,

maybe stand outside your home, and pray for the right to life

of pre-born babies.

Every abortion stops a beating heart.

"The voice of the Lord is over the waters (of abortion);

the God of glory thunders,

the Lord thunders over the mighty waters.

The voice of the Lord is powerful;

the voice of the Lord is majestic."  (Ps 29:3-4)

Blessings,

Sue
