WHISTLE - Letter No 14

11 November, 2008

WHISTLE

·         A branch of HealNZ 24/7 prayer, with a specific focus on prayer regarding abortion in NZ.

·         Announcing "FULL TIME" to abortion in NZ.

·         Arranged by Sue Rowe and The Whistle Team, coordinated from Hamilton.

·         "He lifts up a banner for the distant nations, He whistles for those at the ends of the earth. Here they come swiftly and speedily!"  (Is 5:26)

Here we are beginning the last week of the 40 days.

This has been an amazing season in my life.  Thank you so much for joining in, for supporting and encouraging me in so many ways.

I have been looking ahead, and praying about where to from here.  Maybe you have been too.

THREE THINGS:

~  On Tuesday 18th, the final day, some of the Whistle Team are going to Tills Lookout in Hamilton. This is a hill that has a wide view over the city.  There we will worship, pray, give the whole 40 days back to the Lord, blow our whistles and have communion.  We began the 40 days on the 10th October by praying and blowing our whistles and having communion.  I invite you, in your city/town,  or in your own home, to join us in prayer and blowing your whistle.

We are meeting at 8pm, as the sun is setting - as the sun is setting on the abortion issue!!

I will draft a declaration that we can all use and will attach it to the next Whistle letter.

Hamilton people are welcome to join us at Tills Lookout, end of Melva St, Dinsdale, at 8pm.

Melva St is off Whatawhata Rd.  Park at the end of the street and follow the concrete path up the hill.

~  We are relying on your feedback, on what you feel the Lord is saying is to happen from now on.

Please be listening to the Lord and tell us so we can begin to see any themes He is emphasizing.

~  I plan to write two newsletters between now and Christmas for prayer up until the end of January. These will be on the theme of waiting as we enter into the post 40 days season of waiting to see what God will do and what He is saying.  I am inviting you to join in praying the topics in these newsletters. I will email out the first one, as an attachment, towards the end of next week.

I will also continue these Whistle email letters as and when there is something to communicate.

WE NEED TO KEEP IN TOUCH, AND WE NEED TO KEEP PRAYING!

AS ONE PERSON SAID IN AN EMAIL, GOD HAS BUILT AN ARMY.  LET'S STAY IN RANK.

HONOURING:

There is so little honouring of others in NZ.  I have been impacted by this topic the last two days

as I have prayed it from the prayer booklet.

I'd like to suggest that we each begin to loose a spirit of honour over NZ.  Speak it out over your

city/town, and over those cities/towns you have adopted.  You could declare -

"I loose a spirit of honour over the city of ________________.

May mothers and fathers be honoured.

    May politicians be honoured.

May city fathers in key positions in business, local councils, schools, be honoured.

May spiritual fathers and mothers in the Body of Christ be honoured.

May the children of this nation be taught how to honour."

GOD AND GOVERNMENT:

Francis Frangipane, USA, said in a recent email letter:

"Let me remind you: the future of our nation is not determined by an election, but by the faith of the elect. If we continue to pursue God, humbling ourselves and not giving up on our intercession, God can turn this nation toward Him in remarkable and powerful ways....Even now, with a black man ascending the seat of authority in this nation, hope is swelling in places bound by hopelessness.  This breakthrough of racial healing has long been on the heart of God.

But, what about Obama's staunch pro-choice voting record? I, (Francis) was a Christian for several years before the Holy Spirit revealed the horror of abortion. It happened in a moment.  Perhaps someone was praying for me, but God got through.  Likewise, I believe God can get through to our new president.  Let's take faith that Jesus Christ could lift president Obama's conscience to the place where abortion becomes reprehensible to him."

Ken Orr, of Right to Life here in NZ, expressed concern regarding Obama's voting record re abortion.

"He is the most pro abortion President in the history of the USA.  His Presidency will have a devastating effect on the protection of unborn children and their mothers in the USA and throughout the world.  He has promised that on his first day in the White House he will sign the Freedom of Choice Act.  This will effectively overturn all pro-life legislation passed in the last 30 years.  It is expected that the United States will aggressively promote abortion overseas, especially in developing nations by funding the United Nations Population Fund agency which has been involved in supporting China's one child family policy, with forced abortions.

He has pledged to ensure that every Justice he appoints to the Supreme Court will comply with his

litmus test that they support the notorious Roe v Wade decision of 1973 that allows for abortion on

demand during the full nine months of pregnancy.  It is expected that he will have the opportunity of

appointing 6 to 8 Justices to the Supreme Court within the next four years."

We have voted John Key as our new Prime Minister in NZ.  He has said he doesn't see any need to

change the abortion laws.  BUT GOD, as Francis has said, can in a moment reach this man's

conscience also, so his views change in that moment.  Our role is to pray for these men and for our

Almighty God to do this. As Francis said:  "It is time to pray with vision and hope.  If all you can see is a 'cloud the size of a man's hand', then pray with the faith of Elijah that a mighty outpouring of grace may fall."

We live in exciting times!

Let's trust in the Lord with all our heart and lean not on our own understanding, or what we see in

the natural with our own eyes.  Let's lift our eyes up to Him who is seated in heavenly places, and

who will tell us what must happen next.  (Prov 3:5, Rev 4:1)

Blessings,

Sue Rowe
