·       Nationwide day and night prayer for 2009

·       A Branch of HealNZ 24/7 prayer

·       Arranged by Sue Rowe and the Whistle Team

"He lifts up a banner for the distant nations,

He whistles for those at the ends of the earth.

Here they come swiftly and speedily."  Isaiah 5:26

WELCOME TO WHISTLE FOR 2009!  May God's grace by on, in, and with you.

Below are a few topics for prayer.

As we begin 2009 I want to quote from Word for Today, Jan 1-5.

Based on the scripture “We will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Gal 6:9)

Bob Gass writes about perseverance.

1.       Perseverance means succeeding because you are determined to,

2.       not because you're entitled to.

3.       Perseverance is recognising that life is not one long race, but many

4.       short ones in succession.

5.       Perseverance is needed to win the prize.

6.       Perseverance turns adversity into advancement.

7.       Perseverance means stopping not because you are tired, but because

8.       the task is done.

9.       Perseverance doesn’t demand more than we have, but all that we have.

Perseverance is a trait that can be cultivated, and the initial step is to eliminate its

greatest enemies. These are:

1.       A lifestyle of giving up.

2.       A wrong belief that life should be easy.

3.       Lack of resiliency.

4.       Lack of vision.  Everything that’s created is created twice: first mentally,

5.       then physically.  A God-given vision will keep you moving forward when nothing else will.

6.       Lack of purpose.  Perseverance is stubbornness with a purpose.

Expectation is the great characteristic that distinguishes those who reach their goals

from those who don’t.  Boxer Mohammed Ali said: “They have something deep inside

them – a desire, a dream, a vision.  They have last-minute stamina.

They have to go a little faster, and they have to have the skill and the will.

But the will must be stronger than the skill.”

Let us set our will to persevere in prayer regarding the abortion issue.

January 22nd 1973

Roe v Wade court case finally concluded in the USA Supreme Court.

Abortion was legal.

Please pray on January 22nd the anniversary.

An email was sent to me regarding FOCA Freedom of Choice Act (USA).

This act is set to be signed if the US Congress passes it on January 21st or 22nd!

(I find the coinciding of Jan 22nd dates amazing.  In the spiritual realm, will that assist

in the passing of this act?)

If made a law all the limitations on abortion will be lifted.  Some results would be:

1.       all hospitals, including Catholic, will be required to perform abortions on request.

2.       Partial birth abortions would be legal with no limitations.

3.       The Govt would have control of the issue of abortion.

4.       A future amendment could force women by law to have an abortion e.g. for rape.

Pray:

·         That the intended demonic spiritual linking of 22 Jan 1973 with 2009 be severed.

·         That the intended demonic spiritual power be lost.

·         For the spiritual separation of NZ from these dates and FOCA by the blood of Jesus.

ABORTION AT THE HEART OF ALL ABUSE

Garth George wrote an article in 27 Nov ’08 NZ Herald pointing out the link between

deterioration in the family together with abortion in NZ and the increasing child abuse.

The few letters to the Herald that I saw ridiculed that stance.

A Waikato Times story 6th January, reported that “more than 350 children and young

people whose safety or welfare had been brought to CYF’s attention have died since 2000.

There were 86 deaths last financial year alone.  The dead children were known to CYF

through notifications of concern or suspected child abuse, though only a small number

were in CYF custody.

The review has triggered a major new focus on neglect by parents and caregivers.”

Carolynn, who with you is praying an hour a week on the Whistle 24/7, recently

suggested that we have a responsibility to pray for those babies and little children,

who are in danger from neglect, abuse and murder, so they will be saved.

NZs stats in this area are, I believe, the worst in the developed world.

Protection of the child both in the womb and outside of the womb is important.

Pray for:

1.       Family members and friends to take responsibility in helping to care for those

2.       mums who are pregnant and contemplating abortion; and to see and heed the

3.       warning signs of neglect and abuse.  Pray for quick intervention and appropriate help.

4.       Pray for the organizations who are doing their best to help protect babies and children e.g.

CYFs, Plunket, Medical e.g. doctors, midwives, Women’s Refuges, Adoption agencies,

Catholic Family Life, Salvation Army life skills training.

5.        Pray for the cycle of violence, anger in families to be broken, roots causes discerned and addressed.

6.        Pray for Christians to be active in deliverance and healing ministries so the captives are set free.

ACART

(The Advisory Committee on Assisted Reproductive Technology, an expert advisory committee appointed

by the Minister of Health to make recommendations to govt on human reproductive issues.)

Ken Orr, Right to Life, circulated a media release, which I emailed you in Dec, and the following is from that.

“Late last year ACART made a recommendation to the Minister of Health that permission be granted for the use of human embryos for embryonic stem cell research in NZ.  This research entails destruction of the human embryo.  This research is part of a culture of death which has given us the killing of innocent and defenceless unborn children by abortion.  ACART contends that the use of ‘spare embyros’ from IVF clinics for embryonic research is justified on the grounds that these embryos are not required for implantation and will be destroyed.  We have had more than 10 years of research on embryonic stem cell lines that have produced no medical cures.”

Pray for:

·         Minister of Health Tony Ryall, that he will reject the recommendations of ACART to allow the use

·         of human embryos for research and a 18 month moratorium allowing more research, and defend life.

·         Ryall, and those in the Ministry of Health, to begin to have the mind of Christ, to be shocked at

·         what is happening in NZ to the unborn, and begin to legislate for positive change.

Julie, who also has an hour on Whistle 24/7, sent me a copy of Investigate magazine’s story Nov ’05 about a University of Auckland’s School of Medicine research project.  For this the university had imported body parts, especially eyes, from aborted American babies, part of a massive industry harvesting pieces of dead babies.

Pray for:

·         That which is hidden in NZ, to be exposed, all veils removed.

·         Those appointed to ethics committees and giving approval to controversial research projects in NZ,

·         will have the mind of Christ, and be able to clearly set out the reasons why such things should

·         not continue.  NZers will have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to our nation.

As well as providing info about the following,

please pray that the right info will come

forth from those to whom this request has gone, or other sources.

INFORMATION NEEDED!

As part of the Whistle 24/7 Abortion Prayer Network prayer focus for 2009, regarding abortion, I am asking you to supply any information related to the following two topics.

·         The 10 Arenas.

These are:

Church, Government, Family, Media, Education,

Law and Justice, Business, Sport and Recreation,

Health, Art and Entertainment.

Each of these has a sphere of influence in the community.

Each is influenced by abortion in some way, and/or influences abortion in some way.

Please pray, reflect, read, remember, and email me the specific ways you see any of these arenas influence, or are influenced by, abortion.

·         Time Line re abortion.

What key people, events, decisions do you know about, at any stage of history, anywhere in the world, which you feel have played a major (or minor) part in bringing NZ to the place it is at now regarding abortion.

Maybe include who did what and when, and the impact, change, reaction that occurred in NZ.

Please include any websites, books, articles that could be helpful.

Please also include any scriptures, or specific ways of praying.

If you want to post anything please send to:
