·       Nationwide day and night prayer for 2009

·       A Branch of HealNZ 24/7 prayer

·       Arranged by Sue Rowe and the Whistle Team

"He lifts up a banner for the distant nations,

He whistles for those at the ends of the earth.

Here they come swiftly and speedily."  Isaiah 5:26

Recently I began reading through Revelation again.  Whenever I read the first verses of chapter 4,

I marvel at the invitation from God to meet with Him.

“After this I looked, and there before me was a door standing open in heaven.  And the voice I had first heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, ‘Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this’.  At once I was in the Spirit…”

As we pray for the different aspects of abortion, come up before Him and listen to His advice.

A STORY ABOUT ATTITUDE AND ALTITUDE: (from “Transformation” by Ed Silvoso)

Three brick masons laboured diligently side by side in the heat of the day, covered with the dust of the bricks and mortar, their backs aching and their clothes sopping with perspiration.  With callused hands, they arduously laid brick upon brick on what appeared to be a huge project.

Out of curiosity, a passer-by asked the first mason what he was doing.  With more than a tinge of resentment, he replied, “I’m sticking bricks together. Can’t you see?”  Even more curious the passer-by went to the second mason with the same query.  “I’m building a wall,” the second one said.  The passer-by approached the third mason.  The man paused, wiped his brow and, looking up to take in the sight of something that did not yet exist, replied with a twinkle in his eye, “I am building a cathedral!”

The three were all doing the same gruelling task, but only one was enjoying it, because he had his eyes on the ultimate design instead of the immediate task.  He saw each brick with the eyes of his imagination as part of the cathedral he could not see in the natural – YET.  Possessing a greater vision allowed him to look beyond the ordinary and incomplete and see the grandeur of the finished product, changing his attitude about an otherwise tedious job.  His attitude determined his altitude!

Let’s regularly check our attitude as we lay brick upon brick of prayer to build something beautiful to replace what is currently occurring in abortion.  Coming up before God is the best way to check our attitudes.

BUSINESS ARENA

SECTION ONE:

The business of abortion with all its ever-increasing tentacles is worth millions of dollars in NZ.

Those reaping wealth will do all they can to keep abortion going.

One of the main powers behind abortion is Babylon.  The business ‘kings’, the merchants, have “committed adultery with her and become intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries” (Rev 17:2)  She is described as, “Babylon the Great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth”. (Rev 17:5)  But there is a time coming when Babylon will fall and the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn, saying, “In one hour such great wealth has been brought to ruin!”  (Rev 18:10-11,17)

God urges us through Jeremiah to “surround Babylon, shoot at her, shout against her until she surrenders as this is the vengeance of the Lord”. (Jer 50:14-15)

PRAYER POINTS:

v      Pray for the Lord to draw businessmen and women out of the seduction of Babylon, out from the control she has established over them in relation to abortion, out of “corrupt wisdom…dishonest trade, widespread trade filled with violence”, every perversion in trade, and into righteousness and integrity.  Pray Ps 25:21; Ps 78:72

v      Silvoso regarding the “DNA first exhibited at Babel”, sees the “four-headed monster of control, disregard for moral absolutes, self-centeredness and the exploitation of nature and people” as being constantly present regardless of how or through whom it has been expressed.  “When a group of people has a compelling purpose, unity and communication – the same language – then nothing is impossible for them”.  Pray for God to come down and confuse their language so they will not understand each other, to scatter them and stop them building the abortion business.  (Gen 11:7-9)

v      Pray for the Lord to unravel all the business tentacles connected with abortion in NZ, for each one to be cut off from the greed and wealth from abortion, and for every unholy, immoral, business partnership based on abortion to be severed by the blood of Jesus.  Those businesses which can be improved and be approved of by God to remain; those which fail His judgment to be permanently removed from commercial endeavours in NZ.

v      Silvoso:  “When capitalism becomes devoid of its biblical moorings, it can turn destructive.  A nation’s business practices can be characterized by three possible moral attitudes: immorality, amorality, or morality.  Immoral business practices are those that blatantly operate against that which is part of a body of universally acceptable moral principles e.g. drug cartels, the sale of human organs.  Generally their raw moral deformity makes them repulsive.

The danger looms in the area of amorality in business.  This is an attitude often found in modern Western business.  Its mantra is ‘maximise profits’.  Amoral business remains unconcerned with moral principles.  The question is not ‘right or wrong’ but ‘legal or illegal’.  The rule of law takes the place of morality.  Without the backbone provided by the Judeo-Christian culture, from where it draws its ethical compass, it ends up abdicating its social responsibility.  It does what is legal, but it misuses the higher moral standard.

Pray for exposure of the amoral businesses in NZ connected to abortion, conviction of consciences, right alignment with biblical principles, resetting of their ethical compass so they operate from the higher moral standard. Rom 2:15; 2 Cor 4:2-4, 7:10.

v      Pray regarding various tentacles, e.g.: specialists and consultants, doctors and nurses, psychologists and psychiatrists; pharmacies; Family Planning; fetal harvesting, stem cell research; assisted reproduction; media; Law and Justice.

v      Announce over all those involved in abortion business: “Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great.  In one hour all the great wealth gained by abortion, will be brought to ruin.” (Rev 18:2,17)

v      Declare aloud Jeremiah 50 and 51, spending time on those phrases and verses which God highlights to you.

v      Pray for businesses “with foundations”, in NZ, businesses “whose architect and builder is God”. Pray for God to move His most talented business people into the gaps left as a result of His cleansing work in NZ.  Pray for righteousness, justice, love and faithfulness to the foundation of these businesses, that these business men and women will walk in the light of God’s presence.  Pray that righteousness will exalt the nation of NZ.

      (Ezek 28:16-18; Heb 11:10; Ps 89:14-15; Prov 14:34)

v      Exalt Jesus over NZ, especially over your city or area, over the abortion clinics and every business associated with or benefiting financially from abortion, using Colossians 1:15-23.

v      Pray for Christians to operate in the power and fullness of the Holy Spirit to bring transformation  to the market place, by taking the presence and power of God where evil is entrenched until it crumbles and becomes nothing more than a pile of rubble.

SECTION TWO: COST

Ken Orr, Right to Life, gave me a summary of the cost of abortion in NZ.

“The cost of an abortion is an estimated $1000 which includes counselling and the cost of employing the surgeon.  The two certifying consultants each receive a fee of $135 for a face to face consultation which is not included in the $1000.

There were 18,382 abortion reported in 2007.  (Work out this cost!!!)

A total of $5,048,096 was paid to certifying consultants in 2007.

One consultant did not decline even one request for an abortion: 1050 unborn children killed.

Another approved 723 abortions not refusing any.  Another 921 abortions, refusing one.”

PRAYER POINTS:

v      Pray that the TOTAL costs, including the emotional cost, the counselling, family break up, etc, to be uncovered and made known in NZ, to the taxpayer.

v      The huge financial cost of abortion is robbing sick people from prompt care and those who urgently need operations for legitimate illness often have to wait because of long waiting lists.  The facilities and expertise of staff who work on abortions could be working with such patients.  Pray concerning the misuse of taxpayer money for the purposes of death instead of life.

Please continue to pray for Israel and their abortion “business” using the points above.

Blessings and manifold thanks for praying.

May the Holy Spirit guide and inspire you as you pray, and refill you when you have finished your hour.
