ABORTION - encouragement!
"In 2005 South Dakota, USA, passed a law obliging abortion doctors to inform
women that abortion ends the life of a complete, distinct and wholly living human
being and could cause psychological instability. Due to an injunction because
of an appeal, the law was only recently enacted. Unwilling to comply, the state's
last clinic closed its doors. Abortionists could be sued if they didn't comply. On
July 21st, eight women arrived at the Planned Parenthood office in Sioux Falls, seeking abortions but
were instead met with locked doors and a note indicating the clinic was now closed! This
state stands as an example to the world. With perseverance and determination, pro-lifers achieved
what was seemingly impossible, making South Dakota the first abortion-free state."

This is great encouragement for NZ, not to mention
the other states in America.
- we need to pray!
Before
we can begin to pray for our nation regarding this issue of abortion we must begin to pray for ourselves.
I believe this is to be a NATIONAL
40 days of prayer and fasting. A small group of us in Hamilton have already done
two 40 days to prepare the way.
Apathy,
complacency, have been identified as cloaking the church regarding the bigger issues - abortion is one of these. A sense of hopelessness - we've tried this before. The
abortion issue looks like a giant, and we look like grasshoppers by comparison! (How big is our God???)
And then there is our busyness........................
THE BATTLE HAS BEGUN!
IN THE SPIRIT I SENSE THE OPPOSITION
RISING UP.
SATAN WOULD WANT TO ABORT THESE 40 DAYS IN WHATEVER WAY HE CAN - the
earlier the better.
Blind Bartimaeus was sitting by the road side begging as Jesus was leaving the city
of Jericho.
He heard it was Jesus and began SHOUTING, "JESUS,
SON OF DAVID, HAVE MERCY ON ME!"
(There is no record
of anyone shouting while Jesus was in the town, but as He began to leave
a lone voice was raised.)
Many didn't
like Bartimaeus raising his voice and rebuked him, but he shouted all the more:
"SON
OF DAVID, HAVE MERCY ON ME!"
When Jesus called him
over, Bartimaeus threw off his cloak and came to Jesus.
(In
those days his cloak was his licence to beg. He took a step of faith.)
Jesus asked him, "What do you want me to do for you?" The blind man said, "Rabbi,
I want to see."
Immediately he received his sight and
followed Jesus, praising God.
When all the people saw it,
they also praised God. (Luke 18:35-43, Mark 10:46-52)
A bit later, as Jesus prepared to enter
Jerusalem, the crowd of disciples began to joyfully cry out.
But
some of the Pharisees said to Jesus, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples!"
Jesus
replied, "I tell you, if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out."
(Luke 19:37-40)
Then He wept over Jerusalem.
PLEASE PRAY:
- that Christians
all over the nation will receive this word about the 40 days of prayer and fasting regarding abortion.
- that each would be released to participate; that nothing would abort the FULL purposes of God
for this time.
- that through prayer, we
will now, joyfully, begin to build up a wall of protection around these 40 days.
- that
as the religious spirits rise up against us, we would stand firm, turn to God, resist the devil so he flees from us.
- that we would all throw off our "cloaks", our licence to sit and pray begging
prayers, and begin to SHOUT with urgency "JESUS, SON OF DAVID, HAVE MERCY ON ME, HAVE MERCY ON THE CHURCH IN NZ! WE WANT TO SEE this abortion issue as you do, and as we need to. OPEN
OUR EYES LORD. "
LET'S GET URGENT, LET'S EVEN GET
NOISY!
REGARDLESS OF THE REACTION OF THE CROWD.
LET'S PRAY THE PRAYERS THAT WILL CAUSE JESUS TO STOP AND ANSWER.
Let's
use the Olympic competitors as our model of training, competing, and finishing the race set before us.
I urge you to begin to seriously
train for this Abortion Race, using the next 40 days to get your mental attitude right, to build
yourself up in the spirit, (we are not grasshoppers), to recognise ways your flesh is opposing fasting, and
to give the 40 days
your 100% commitment!
